A very happy holidays from wintery warm Lost Angeles! This is my first Xmas in LA. I've lived here for 7 years, but always traveled back East for the holidays. Well, not this year. This year it is sunshine and flipflops on Xmas Eve. A beautiful day.

update: Xmas card sales went great!

Next up, Valentines, a birthday card and a thank you card. Big things happening in 2008! Thank you for stopping by! Stay tuned!

love,
Melinda

So!

After selling out of holiday cards twice, we ended up printing a third batch-- the last packs of which are now for sale HERE.

This is an encouraging development.

I will soon begin to prepare for my 2008 Valentine line. Stay tuned!!

Monday, December 03, 2007

So around midnight on Sunday night, I posted my first cards to be sold officially ONLINE. I posted for sale several packs of my two screenprinted holiday designs. All but three packs had been sold by the time I left for work this morning, not 12 hours later!

I sold out of the Xmas tree card completely, but since I got a few "are there any more" inquiries today-- we have decided to hand-print another batch, which will be available in time for people to send out for the holidays!

Check out where you can currently buy my cards! A few packs of the wintersnowtime design are still available:

More to come! Keep checking back! And thanks to all who have purchased cards and supported me this season. My heart is bursting full of gratitude!

The little holiday bazaar has come and gone. The quality of this year's batch of cards was the best yet. And I was proud of the display. This was definitely the most professional my little card-making outfit has ever come off looking, which stands to reason as I am finally about to launch an actual business venture. For real this time. No foolin'. Just wait and see!

The designs were well-received. And a modest amount were purchased. All is well.

I have a few holiday packs left, which I hope to put online for sale in the next few days. In the mean time, if you wish to purchase any of them, give me a holler. If you know me, email me at my normal email address. If you don't know me, please direct all inquiries to sevenletterpress@gmail.com.

~Happy December~

Because of the extreme generosity of a lovely workfriend, I was able to see a most amazing Damien Rice show at the Greek last night. It was so wonderful! Thank you, Michelle!

I call this one:

mild, um... scoliosis.

also, I drew this and then effed with it in photoshop, which I think is probably totally cheating. But my originals lack something, um, something... I can't quite put my finger on it oh yes skill and/or talent.

(this is the part where you say nah, man, you're cool.)

Happy Independence Day, my fellow Americans!

On this day, I would like to invite you all to take a moment to look around at what is happening to our great nation, and seriously consider helping to call for the impeachment of our president.

I read somewhere recently that a government should be afraid of their people-- not the other way around.

That feels right.

June is looking up.

Whewh. I was so sick of looking at that lame griffith park fire picture. Weren't you?

Here is some new stuff. [finally]

The story is that one night my friend got his car towed and broke my pen. But it's a good pen and has a lot of ink left and it still sort of works. So I did some ROUGH scribblings.

Tuesday, May 08, 2007

Tonight I walked around my neighborhood and snapped a few pix of the big fire across the way in Griffith Park.

A great Valentines Day until he wondered out loud if kissing me was technically cheating on his girlfriend.
But still...

Today is my father's birthday.

I don't have any art to post just yet, but I wanted to extend warm birthday wishes from the 70-degree weather of Los Angeles.

Happy Birthday, Dad-- dad, daddio!
